Monk Bretton Library

Monk Bretton Library closed on Saturday 1st November 2014.

Following a public consultation, a decision was made to close this library, due to the building requiring costly building work and as a result of a significant reduction in the number of customers.

Alternative arrangements

A book collection is available for library customers at the nearby Silverdale Community Centre:

Monk Bretton Community Centre
Silverdale Drive, Monk Bretton, Barnsley

The Community Centre also offers a wide range of activities from social events such as bingo, karate and slimming classes to education and training courses.

The book collection will be available to access on Monday and Tuesday afternoons from 1.15pm to 4.15pm and Wednesday mornings from 9.15pm to 12.15pm.

A home library delivery service will continue to be available to any users who are unable to access a library due to age or disability.
