Voluntary groups for older people can provide help if you, or somebody you know, needs some support or is at risk of becoming isolated.

Age UK Barnsley provides a wide range of services covering the whole of the area of Barnsley that are tailor-made for the over 50's.

The Barnsley branch of the Alzheimer's Society offers information and advice services, peer support groups and carers' support. 

Barnsley Independent Alsheimer's and Dementia Support (BIADS) is a local charity offering support to people in Barnsley affected by any form of dementia together with carers, families and friends. 

Independent Age is a national charity providing information and advice for older people that focuses on social care, welfare benefits and befriending. 

Voluntary Action Barnsley also publishes details of local groups on their website, as well as details of how you can get involved and help out others in your community.
